The old Southern Glass and Paint building on North Magnolia has been razed (see posts below) and now an empty lot stands waiting for its next adventures. The city has been purchasing lots in this area and converting them to parking facilities for businesses that need space for their employees. I guess it’s a good thing in so many ways – jobs, taxes, strengthening economy and all that.

Ross Prairie is a lovely wilderness area near where I live. It’s a great place for a nice short hike and is loaded with great photo opportunities. The trails pass through pine forest, oak hammocks and areas of the prairie with beautiful golden grasses that sway rhythmically in the wind. One of my favorite places to spend a few hours of peace and solitude.
